During our speech class, the class had to divide into several groups to be able to make a sort of summary of our course book. It is a book divided into 12 chapters that we had to share in 3 groups. the chapters are divided into three parts Preparing your presentation, selecting, and arranging content, and the types of presentations. To prepare our presentation, we must know how to prepare our first presentation, select a topic and purpose, and how to prepare our first presentation, select a topic and purpose, and know how to get started, how to prepare our first presentation, how to select a topic and purpose, and how to analyze the audience. To select and arrange content, we must find information and support our ideas, organize, and outline our presentation, select speeches, choose our words, and use visual resources and presentation technology. A presentation can have three purposes: Presenting to inform, presenting persuasive messages, and speaking on special occasions. We will speak briefly on each point and comment on the presentation of the diverse groups.
Never undervalue the impact of effective communication. You might be able to use it to get the job of your dreams, get backers for your business concept, or advance your position within your company. Although there are many excellent speakers in the world, you may distinguish yourself by having a consistent ability to offer fantastic content. Here are some pointers for business executives who desire to improve their speaking abilities: Don't underestimate the power of your voice; raise and lower it for emphasis; be succinct (the fewer words, the better); never use bullet points (photos and images together are more memorable); give your audience something extra (unexpected moments will grab their attention); and practice (the best speakers are the most prepared).
When your presentation is finalized and you have finished gathering your resources, it is time to practice giving it. It can seem pointless at this point because practicing in front of a mirror does not exactly prepare you for anything. The major delivery problem has still not been resolved, despite you memorizing and reciting your script for yourself. Learning to do it without stress is the hardest challenge in presentation preparation. To psychologically prepare for your PowerPoint presentation, read on for some useful advice. By doing so, you will be able to dazzle your audience with nothing but your confidence.
The process of audience analysis entails identifying the audience and tailoring the speech to suit their interests, degree of comprehension, attitudes, and beliefs. A speaker's efficacy will increase if the presentation is designed and performed appropriately, hence it is crucial to adopt an audience-centered approach. Since it might be challenging to pinpoint the audience through in-depth research, audience adaptation frequently depends on the constructive use of imagination.
After reading this chapter, the student will be able to:
Explain why supporting materials are necessary
List the several types of verbals supporting materials
Discuss supporting material strengths in explaining and proving ideas and arguments
Incorporate supporting materials seamlessly into the speech
Use supporting materials ethically through correct citation
Explain how perception and attention affect the speech-giving process
There aredifferent type of presentation. Informative presentations focus on helping the audience to understand a topic, issue, or technique more clearly. There are distinct functions in a speech to inform, and you may choose to use one or more of these functions in your speech. How well is the information being absorbed by your audience? On two levels, this should serve as your compass. The first asks about what they already know—or do not know—about your subject and what crucial concepts or terminology would be required for someone who is uninitiated in your field to understand the concepts you are delivering. In the second, you express your thoughts and provide examples. The response to your call for attention will ideally keep the audience interested, but how will you move beyond the speech's fundamental subject matter and successfully communicate to deepen comprehension? These inquiries should serve as a test for your informative speech, and by approaching it from the audience's point of view, you will improve your capacity to deepen the audience's knowledge.
A persuasive presentation features a speaker who tries to influence an audience to accept certain positions and engage in actions in support of them. A good persuasive presentation uses a mixture of facts, logic, and empathy to help an audience see an issue from a perspective they previously discounted or had not considered.
A special speech aims to hold the audience's attention while conveying a message. presentations for exceptional occasions should convey a coherent point, much like informative or persuasive presentations, but usually do it in a unique way.
Comment about the presentations.
During the past week, we have had presentations from three diverse groups. The informative and interesting presentations but each group differed in their way of presenting. The first group presented, the presentation was a little too long and in the fact that it was a little too long, they tended to lose the attention of the audience because. information and some information were irrelevant. Stories are told and Irrelevant. About the 2 other groups, the presentation was much more pleasant, short, informations were clear, the stress was there, of course, but. The 3 groups assured. The only downside I can add is that we must control the information we provide. Do not make long presentations to capture the attention of the audience and not the audience sleep. Because what we are looking for, or, it is to convey information, capture the audience's attention and not put the audience to sleep.
Some tips for a successful public presentation:
Do not speak directly, Slow down your rate of speech, think about non-verbal language, look at individual members of the public, focus on your “supporters,” and thank your audience.
Very nice reflection. You should be careful of grammar and spelling.
